FAQ
Are the zones guaranteed to hold animals?
No. Zones are AI estimates built from public data. They're a starting point for scouting, not a promise. Animals move with weather, pressure and snow.
Is this legal to use for hunting in Colorado?
Yes. UnitIQ is map research done before your hunt. We follow CPW rules: we don't use drones or live trail cameras to locate game, and we don't do aerial spotting. You're responsible for following all regulations in the field.
Are you an outfitter or guide?
No. Rokwilder Scouting is not an outfitter or guide service. We sell scouting information and scouting services. We don't take clients hunting.
Does 'reachable' mean I can legally get there?
It means our check found a public route on mapped data. Always confirm property lines, road closures and signs yourself. In Colorado, corner crossing is only legal between federal parcels.
Where does the data come from?
Public sources, including Colorado Parks and Wildlife (species range and migration layers, GMU boundaries), USGS (hydrography and elevation), BLM (land ownership), USDA Forest Service (motor vehicle use maps), LANDFIRE, NLCD, MTBS and the US Census Bureau. Analysis and rankings are our own. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these agencies.
How is this different from goHUNT, Epic Outdoors or Huntin' Fool?
Those are established services, and many hunters use them for draw research, application strategy and unit information. UnitIQ focuses on putting draw odds, unit maps and in-unit scouting intel together, with estimated zones, water, access checks and GPS pins for a specific season. Plenty of hunters may use both. We're not affiliated with any of them.
What do I get and how?
A PDF, a web map and GPX/KML files. Checkout isn't open yet. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it is.
Which units are covered?
Colorado first, starting with a set of launch units. More units and states later.
